#Evaluation #Outcomes #Impact #GoingWell(orNot) #Coaching

How does one know that a coaching session is going well?

Several thoughts (first cut/ first round) come to mind (in no particular order, organised empirically in several categories):

Coachee

- satisfaction (feel it went well, feel good)

- (new) insights (way[s] of thinking, awareness, observing self and others, situations)

- (new, better) outcomes (impact on life, social interactions, 'work')

Coach

- observe physical (somatic), speech (thinking), emotional (behaviour, tone of voice, facial expression) changes

- what coachee reports, says and does

Observer (trained experienced senior practitioner)

- objective criteria (ICF competencies - https://coachingfederation.org/core-competencies)

- subjective criteria (observation[s], impressions, gut feel)

- observations, reports from, and interviewing coachee and coach
