Underpinning this 7 day or 7 step process is one core idea - that training, and then 'practice' (transfer to practice), of coaching skills, as coaches, being coaches - 'doing' coaching - occurs not only during 'formal' one to one, and group coaching; but ideally - A) is integrated into our way of 'being', 'seeing' and 'living'; and B) we continue to develop personally and professionally - literally each and every day - each day brings us to progressively higher levels of understanding, insight into practice, and deepening our skills. We do this by an individual and collective commitment to 1) call ourselves coaches - I 'am' a coach; 2) being a coach; 3) do coaching; 4) reflect and record; 5) share and build collective experience, locally, then in wider circles and networks of practice and interest, communities of practice and interest CoP and CoI; 6) cumulatively capture, record and build both individual and personal coaching logs and portfolios (quantitative and qualitative), and 7) our collective portfolio of work and metrics of value-added and impact - progressively making this visible and sharing this. Essentially this is similar to what we do in clinical practice. See. Do. Teach. Share. Engage in Training, and Train others. Engage in Scholarship. Locally and then Internationally. Progressively and deepening our skills and expertise. Adding value and having impact. Poh-Sun Goh, 25 March 2022, 0309am, Singapore Time
