What are Coaching practices? For what purpose?

"A coach listens and observes. Being fully present. For the coachee. Driven by curiosity. Asking questions. Delving beneath words spoken or written, behaviours exhibited, the emotion(s) demonstrated and felt, to assist the coachee in progressively developing first awareness, through questioning, feedback, (ultimately self-)observation of underlying drivers, causes, and sources of and what underpins how the coachee 'shows up', their (physical, spoken and emotional - body, emotion and language or BEL) 'presence', to eventually with full understanding and insight (have the coachee being able to) intentionally choose and shape how they (the coachee) present themselves to the world, their impact and effect on the people, situations and environments they inhabit. The coachee 'finds' the answer(s) and develops insights into themselves, by themselves, through the coaching process. The coach does not 'tell' the coachee what to do, say or feel. The coach does not instruct or teach. The coach holds the space. Which might require silence, or questions. The coach asks.
